Ukraine will not export grain if the country's security is not ensured, Oleksiy Danilov emphasized. He assured that Kyiv does not want world hunger and is working on resolving the issue of food export
“No grain will go anywhere for anyone” until the security of Ukraine is ensured, said NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov. Security issue— “number one” for Kyiv, he stressed.
“We have big cities there, a big region. And if we are not sure that the security of our country will be ensured, of course, we cannot agree to this,” — Danilov said (quote from TSN). He accused Russia of creating artificial obstacles to the export of grain, in order to later blackmail Ukraine and European countries.
At the same time, Danilov noted that this issue is under the control of the authorities, because “no one wants there to be hunger in the world.” “This is our common responsibility to other countries,” — politician emphasized.
The leadership of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, as well as the authorities of the United States, Italy, France, Poland and other states warned about the aggravation of the food situation in the countries of the world due to the inability to export millions of tons of grain from Ukraine. Some of them (the United States, Canada, Turkey) declared their readiness to help organize the export of grain.
Ukraine believes that Russia is hindering this process. In the European Union, Moscow was accused of blackmailing and using food as a weapon.
The Russian authorities declare their readiness to facilitate the supply of Ukrainian grain to world markets. President Vladimir Putin in early June named six ways to get grain out of Ukraine, including through the Russian-controlled ports of Berdyansk and Mariupol. In another and simplest way, he called the path through Belarus. Putin also assured that Russia would not use Ukraine's port demining to launch attacks from the sea.

Anadolu reported on a plan prepared by Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN to export grain and sunflower seeds from Ukrainian ports. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov subsequently confirmed the dispatch of a Russian delegation to Ankara on June 7 for talks with the Turkish side. According to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, representatives of his country were not invited to the meeting.
Kyiv has repeatedly demanded security guarantees for food ships. At the end of May, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that guarantees from Moscow alone are not enough, third countries must be held accountable.
In Kyiv, the Russian authorities are accused of illegally exporting grain from Ukraine for its subsequent sale. On June 7, the first train with grain left for Crimea from the part of the Zaporozhye region controlled by Russian troops, the Ukrainian authorities consider such actions to be theft.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called reports of grain theft false. Representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric said that the international organization has no evidence that Russia is exporting grain from Ukraine.
