Members of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission left the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP, RIA Novosti reports. with reference to a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region Vladimir Rogov.

The mission arrived at the station to control the situation after the shelling, which became more frequent in July—August. The head of the IAEA added that a detailed IAEA report on the situation at the ZNPP is planned to be published the next week after the visit. He noted that six representatives of the mission were left at the station, four of whom were then to leave. Earlier, the Zaporozhye authorities said that their departure was scheduled for September 6.

On the day of the mission's visit to the station, the Russian Defense Ministry reported an attempt to capture the nuclear power plant by Ukrainian troops. According to the agency, two sabotage groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, numbering up to 60 people, landed on the banks of the Kakhovka reservoir, on which the power plant is located, to capture it. The Russian forces “took measures to destroy the enemy, including with the use of army aviation,” the ministry pointed out.
