Members of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission left the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP, RIA Novosti reports. with reference to a member of the main council of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporozhye region Vladimir Rogov.

Earlier, the head of the IAEA Rafael Grossi, who visited the station as part of a delegation on September 1, announced plans to establish a permanent presence on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
The mission arrived at the station to control the situation after the shelling, which became more frequent in July—August. According to Grossi, experts recorded that “the physical integrity of the object was violated more than once, this happened several times.” Experts personally saw the signs of shelling, he pointed out.
The head of the IAEA added that a detailed IAEA report on the situation at the ZNPP is planned to be published the next week after the visit. He noted that six representatives of the mission were left at the station, four of whom were then to leave. Earlier, the Zaporozhye authorities said that their departure was scheduled for September 6.
On the day of the mission's visit to the station, the Russian Defense Ministry reported an attempt to capture the nuclear power plant by Ukrainian troops. According to the agency, two sabotage groups of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, numbering up to 60 people, landed on the banks of the Kakhovka reservoir, on which the power plant is located, to capture it. The Russian forces “took measures to destroy the enemy, including with the use of army aviation,” the ministry pointed out.
On the evening of September 2, the Armed Forces of Ukraine made another landing attempt, the number of military personnel in the group amounted to over 250 people, according to according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The agency said that the Russian army also thwarted a second attempt to seize the station.

Rogov wrote on his Telegram channel that due to the shelling on September 4, “330 kV high-voltage lines were damaged in the Energodar area.” Because of this, Melitopol and the settlements of six districts of the Zaporozhye region controlled by Russia were left without electricity.
