According to Rogov, if the voters will vote for the inclusion of the territory into Russia, it would be advisable to rename it the Zaporozhye Territory.

The authorities of Germany, France, Estonia, Poland, the United States, as well as NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg condemned the plans to hold referendums , emphasizing that they are contrary to international law, and stated that they do not recognize their results. Kyiv promised to return the territories and warned that it would refuse to negotiate with Moscow during the voting.
